Red Mint Colombia Geisha Finca La Villa

Sadly, another Geisha disappointment. You try an incredible coffee at a local coffee fair, and then can’t get the brew quite right to recreate the tasting experience you had from the roaster. Lesson learned: no point paying a premium for a coffee which will probably not taste so good at home.

Meron Brazil Guariroba Gesha

Coffee brought back from a short trip. Even though you can sense distinct gesha flavor, I wouldn’t call the quality exceptional, as the packaging claims. Pleasant notes were always accompanied by undesirable woody or smoky ones, despite my efforts to adjust the brewing method. It was best enjoyed while focusing on something else, not when pondering the coffee itself.

Coffee Collective Bolivia Takesi

First experienced it at a café - the flavors were remarkably complex and distinctive, beyond comparison with anything else. The tiny 120g bag at home didn’t last long enough to perfect brewing it. Its price and small quantity limited my experimentation.

Johan & Nyström Colombia La Negrita

Sadly, this coffee was ordered from the retailer, and arrived after the recommended “Best Before” date. As one might expect, the taste was flat and didn’t resemble the typical geisha profile at all. A bitter (and expensive) experience never to be repeated.
